Meet the MC of MASSiF 2017: Mr. Awesome!

Roy Robins, aka Mr. Awesome, is the official MC of Massif 2017! Roy has been part of the Okanagan music scene for decades. As a solo acoustic performer or bass player in legendary punk outfit Hippiecritz, he brings action, humour and awesomeness to everything he does—and now he’ll bring it to the Massif stage!

MASSif thanks El Taco!

IMG_8202With the best burritos in town, El Taco has long been Nelson’s go-to favourite Mexican restaurant. They’ve been a MASSif Friend since the beginning and they want to be yours, too! It won’t take much of an effort, either… they’re less than a block away from the Legion! Muchas gracias, El Taco!

Meet a MASSiF Band: Kid Stranger

kid stranger

Fresh locals Kid Stranger are rolling down the mountain from Hall Siding to join the Massif Music Festival! Combining powerhouse vocals with a powerful band, their epic live set has been thrilling crowds from Tiny Lights to Ragnarok and beyond. Kid Stranger is gracefully stepping in for Bored Decor, who unfortunately had to bow out. Give them a follow on Facebook, and don’t miss them on Massif Sunday at the Royal!

MASSif thanks our Backers!

These incredible businesses have supported MASSif in priceless ways. We can’t explain our grateful we are to our Backers: Lokel Hair Studio, Porcupine Wood Products, Hall Printing, Kootenay Co-op Radio, the Nelson & District Credit Union, and Mountain Hound Inn. Each one, from day one, has enthusiastically supported our mission of bringing a lung-shaking, bone-reverberating urban music festival to you. MASSif hugs to all our supporters!

Meet a MASSiF Band: Glad Rags

glad rags

Vancouver punks Glad Rags barrel in from the coast to take over the Massif Music Festival! You may have heard their smart, snotty sound at Sled Island or at one of many West Coast shows, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to Nelson. Find everything Glad Rags at their website, get pummeled by their music on Bandcamp, check in with them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and see them live at Massif 2017!
