Were you rocking out too hard and missed your opportunity to buy our merch? Or maybe you didn’t know we had any! Satisfy your nostalgia here: https://festivalmassif.bandcamp.com/
Just a quick note to thank everyone immensely for coming out to MASSif 2017! We’re all a little sad it’s over, just like Jay here from Red Hot Gospel, but we’re also equally stoked about you and your support. Stay tuned for photos, videos and merch if you missed it!
This handsome devil, the esteemed B.A. Johnston, will be at the Royal this evening for MASSif 2017’s posthumous closing ceremonies. He’ll be joined by local talent St Mountain, Kid Stranger and Dealer, a rad way to say good bye until next year. Tickets $10 at the door, festival wristbands get in for free.
MASSif 2017 is presented by Tribute and Nelson Brewing Company.
Imbued with the spirit of punk, Big Cranium Design is a mainstay of Nelson’s rock scene. From their headquarters at 273 Baker St., they’ll print your design on shirts, hats, stickers, you name it, and they’ll do it speedily and with a smile! Many thanks to Big Cranium for being a Backer of the Massif Music Festival from Day 1. Check out their handiwork at our merch table tonight at Massif—just $20 for the black shirt and $30 for the classic baseball T!
MASSif Festival is presented by Nelson Brewing Company and Tribute Boardshop.
ONE MORE SLEEP! MASSif wouldn’t be able to say that if it weren’t for two very important businesses: Tribute Boardshop and Nelson Brewing Company. Both are integral members of the Kootenay community. Both shared our vision for an independent heavy music fest. Both were extremely generous in their support. Please go buy your next snowboard, your next kicks, your next hat, anything you can from Tribute. Please drink lots of NBC beer.
TOMORROW! WE ROCK!
Roy Robins, aka Mr. Awesome, is the official MC of Massif 2017! Roy has been part of the Okanagan music scene for decades. As a solo acoustic performer or bass player in legendary punk outfit Hippiecritz, he brings action, humour and awesomeness to everything he does—and now he’ll bring it to the Massif stage!
With the best burritos in town, El Taco has long been Nelson’s go-to favourite Mexican restaurant. They’ve been a MASSif Friend since the beginning and they want to be yours, too! It won’t take much of an effort, either… they’re less than a block away from the Legion! Muchas gracias, El Taco!
Fresh locals Kid Stranger are rolling down the mountain from Hall Siding to join the Massif Music Festival! Combining powerhouse vocals with a powerful band, their epic live set has been thrilling crowds from Tiny Lights to Ragnarok and beyond. Kid Stranger is gracefully stepping in for Bored Decor, who unfortunately had to bow out. Give them a follow on Facebook, and don’t miss them on Massif Sunday at the Royal!

These incredible businesses have supported MASSif in priceless ways. We can’t explain our grateful we are to our Backers: Lokel Hair Studio, Porcupine Wood Products, Hall Printing, Kootenay Co-op Radio, the Nelson & District Credit Union, and Mountain Hound Inn. Each one, from day one, has enthusiastically supported our mission of bringing a lung-shaking, bone-reverberating urban music festival to you. MASSif hugs to all our supporters!
